Josiah Lancaster (b. Cumberland Co., VA 1792 – d. Madison or Jackson Co., AL ~1828-1830)
m. 1st Sarah Ransom (b. Cumberland Co., VA 1798 – ~ 1819) m. 2nd Lucy Ann Hudson (b. Prince Ed. Co., VA 1803 – 1867 TX – place & date of marriage not determined)
Josiah & Lucy Ann had 2 children: Ann Drucilla (AL 1825-TX 1892) & John Nathaniel (my line: AL 1827 – TX 1919).
Lucy Ann Hudson Lancaster married a second time Thompson Mason Rector in Jackson Co. AL & the family moved to TX in the mid 1800s. Her second family with Rector began arriving in 1832.
Lucy Ann’s father John Hudson (VA 1762 – AL?) also came to Madison / Jackson counties along with sons Caleb Baker, John Jr., William and Nathaniel). After some early records, they simply disappeared.
I, too, am looking for the elusive Josiah Lancaster, Moses Jones, and John Hudson, father of Lucy Ann, and Hudson sons Caleb Baker, John, Jr. Nathaniel and William who seem to have followed Josiah & Lucy Ann to Alabama. Lucy Ann’s second marriage to T.M Rector took the Rector family to Texas. Did any Hudsons follow? Are you still looking? Thanks!
